Fall In Challenges 1

We have had a great start to our school year!  Our students have adjusted to the classroom, new friends, and new staff members.  Please see "Our Daily Schedule" tab on the right to read about our daily happenings.  Our students are attending specials (art, gym, music, and media) as a small group and also with their general education kindergarten peers.  We've completed several story units which encompass our daily story, academic worksheets, using interactive websites, craft activities, and cooking recipes.  Completed units include:

• Back to School
• Fair
• Fun at the Fair
• All About Me
• Pumpkin Patch

Our students are learning to use the Promethean Board as a valuable tool to interact with the computer and their peers on a daily basis.

We went to The Great Frederick Fair in September and had a wonderful trip!  The students loved the tractors, animals, and giant pumpkins!

                                             

                       

                            


We went on our first trip to Field of Dreams to visit the horse farm, and it was a huge success!  The students LOVED walking around the farm, practicing how to groom and ride horses, and some of the students even rode a horse!  We are really looking forward to our next trip!  Please remember to have ALL forms filled out so that your child can participate by riding horses on our next trip (I will re-send any forms that are missing).  Please consider chaperoning our next trip as well, it really was a great trip!

                                                                       

Unfortunately hurricane Sandy has cancelled our Pumpkin Patch trip for Monday 10/29.  We have a rain date for Friday 11/2, we will let you know ASAP if we will still be going on our trip (please check for new permission slips to fill out).
